Liam Bōbiam

I want to share with you all a company that I find to be really inspiring and one that knows how to have fun! Bōbiam Artisitc Streetwear is a clothing company, cafe, and art studio that features the original work of artists aged 5-18 years old. The idea was inspired by the owner's 8 years old son Liam' "Bōbiam's" art. What's even better is that Bōbiam has partnered with Free Arts Minnesota, a nonprofit organization that uses art as a healing tool for abused, neglected, or at-risk children and their families. $1 from every shirt sold goes back to the original artist, and another $1 is donated to the the Free Arts charity.

Bōbiam prints all the designs through its in-house printing company onto high quality apparel, such as sweatshirts, yoga clothing, and shirts. Other items include coffee mugs, phone cases, hand knitted hats, and printed canvas artwork. Like the idea but want your own creation on the goods? Bōbiam can do that for you as well through Bōbiam Custom, which is featured on the company website.

What's this about a cafe and art studio as well? Yep. The store also has a separate area from the merchandise area where you can attend classes such as photography, knitting, and watercolor. They do birthdays too. The cafe is still a work in progress, but there is a wonderfully enormous coffee machine, a tap from Excelsior Brewery, and plans for fresh baked goods.

Stud Muffin

As many of you trend watchers have noticed, the stud, spike, and grommet trend has proved to be more than just a fad. The metal color of choice is decidedly gold or brass, and has been a popular way of adding a little edge to your outfit. A favorite on Versace and Burberry's runways, the metal hardware has definitely infiltrated the mainstream, from jewelry to shoes, to fingernail fashion. Additionally, there are many spin offs of the original trend of embellishments + a neutral color. Now, there are studded patterns on denim, leopard + spikes, and even the juxtaposition of soft pastels and lace with grommets.

My wardrobe is quite a bit more feminine, but it's starting to grow on me. I'm thinking about jumping on the bandwagon and finding a studded pencil skirt...
